Dan Snyder: The Tyrant of Washington D.C.

The Washington Redskins will not have a successful franchise until Dan Snyder, the current owner of the franchise, sells the team. The lack of success that the team has seen on the field is only the result of chaos in the front office. The Redskins are 125-162-1 under Snyder’s ownership, which is the seventh worst winning percentage in the NFL during that period. Additionally, the team has only 2 playoff wins in the last 18 seasons and have not made the conference title game under Snyder’s ownership. Snyder runs his team as a tyrant that enjoys firing employees and overcharging fans all to protect his constant miscues and increase revenue stream.

Snyder has a happy finger for firing employees. According to the Washington Post, “Between 2008 and 2013, 120 of its 143 employees in non-football operations left the club for various reasons.” Whether they were fired or left on their own, employees do not respect the culture of the Washington Redskins organization. Everyone knows that attaining a job in the sports industry is extremely difficult simply due to a small supply and high demand for those jobs. Therefore, for 120 people to walk away from a sports organization is unheard of.

The list of Snyder's wrongdoings to the Redskins' fans, employees, and players is endless. There is no doubt in my mind that Snyder will be regarded as the worst owner in professional sports for years to come. I hope that all owners can learn from all of the mistakes that he has made so that they too won't corrupt an organization that used to be a football powerhouse in the NFL.
